Sen. Manchin pushes for better mental health resources for veterans

West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin III pushed for better mental health resources for veterans during a Senate Veterans Affairs Committee last week. The Senator gained insight from experts and leaders about what is currently being done and what can be done in the future to help veterans experiencing mental health setbacks. He encouraged the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to implement and promote the 9-8-8 crisis hotline, a universal telephone number for national suicide prevention and mental health crisis.
