Family is more than blood; if it weren't then why would anyone adopt?

To me...family is everything...true family will be there when all else fails. What do I mean by true family? I mean those that I am closest too. I have blood family that are family in name only. But my true family includes those in my blood family that are close to me, my dear friends that I consider family, and then there is my AF family. Family isn't about blood, family is about relationships, love, and mutual respect for each other. A true family member will stand by you when the world is crumbling around you...and you for them. A true family member will take a bullet for you, stand at the door and say not today and will stand beside you even when you have done wrong (will hold you accountable) but nonetheless will stand by you thorugh it all and never walk away.

Adoption in the US is a billion dollar industry (privatized adoption agencies anyway) and it's rarely child centered. It's usually centered on people who are infertile and expect that the fertile owe them something. Even if they say it's to help kids - it rarely is. I strongly suggest people watch the adoptee creators on TikTok who cover the adoption industry and the trauma that comes with adoption.
