Interesting how quickly people come to the defense of someone who is most likely a pedophile.

Technically pedophiles are only attracted to prepubescent children. A 14 year old is too old for a pedophile. Now those adults attracted to teens there are two names for:

Ephebophilia is the primary sexual interest in mid-to-late adolescents, generally ages 15 to 19. The term was originally used in the late 19th to mid 20th century.

Hebephilia is the strong, persistent sexual interest by adults in pubescent (early adolescent) children (especially those showing Tanner stages 2-3 of development), which is typically ages 11–14. Hebephilia is approximate in its age range because the onset and completion of puberty vary. On average, girls begin the process of puberty at age 10 or 11 while boys begin at age 11 or 12. Partly because puberty varies, some definitions of chronophilias (sexual preference for a specific physiological appearance related to age) show overlap between pedophilia, hebephilia and ephebophilia.

If a child at 14 hadn't yet hit puberty - then yes an adult who had a sexual interest could be a pedophile. But generally clinically speaking pedophiles are attracted to kids under 13.

Thanks for the clarification! I should have reworded it, "... most likely a sexual predator of high school aged girls."

MSG Joseph Cristofaro, after multiple women have come forward with similar stories, the yearbook evidence, and the whole banned from the mall thing, then yes, I'm satisfied that Moore's done some shady shit.

Would anyone in this thread like to see this man investigated to determine facts rather than call names and accuse without proof? I thought I lived in America, not some third world country. This kind of crap has no place here. Newsweek is a known ultra liberal rag that has no truth between its covers. The header is completely false and misrepresentative of what was said.

This kind of rhetoric continues to spread hatred and division in this country...when does it stop? Let the legal system work. Attempting to influence political outcome based on bias rather than fact will destroy our system if this continues. It is time to put lies and this type of politics behind us if we want representatives, not party flunkies in our house and senate.

You will believe what you will and nothing will change your opinion. It still remains, whether you believe it or not, innocent until proven guilty. If he is proven guilty in a civil court of law, Sexual Harassment is a civil, not a criminal crime, I will concede he did the deed. Until then, speculation, interpretation, and innuendo have no bearing.

The fact that he said America was better during slavery, that fact about that statement. Did you not bother to read the original post?

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - This from the article:
"I think it was great at the time when families were united—even though we had slavery—they cared for one another…Our families were strong, our country had a direction."
Further:
"In stating this, Moore seemingly implied he'd be able to overlook the enslavement of other human beings as long as families are "united,"

He did not say America was better during slavery as you state, he said, "even though we had slavery"...a great difference. The article stated Moore implied he'd be able to overlook the enslavement of other human beings as long as families are "united." This statement is so far-reaching and false, the only implication that exists is in the blurred brain of the incompetent person who wrote the article.

And yes, I can read and read the article...note I spell read and read the same way. Will you now make an issue that I read what I said, or I said what I read.

Thank you for an interesting discussion.

He lied about families in slavery. Is he really stupid enough to belive fames were kept together in slavery or is he simplya fan of slavery. The basis for his comments is a lie promulgated by racists.

Roy Moore may have been correct that America was great during the time we had slavery . But great only for one segment of the population. Guess which one . Can you imagine being a slave and being put up for auction? What about the child of a slave and watching your child being bought and taken from you . Yeah , America may have been great but not for everyone. And we’re not even talking about the lives of Native Americans. America was great and maybe families were closer than today for the Roy Moores’ of that time . But what about the ones who were not like Roy Moore?

To Moore and a large part of his supporters those are not equal to whites so they do not matter. After all he is a open sup[porter of segregation..

MSG Joseph Cristofaro - I do not complain all that much about right wing media, I usually limit it to the tin-foil hat set and click-bait sites. The data is in many publications.
Was anything in the article I posted factually incorrect? Or are you just blowing smoke?
