We are given freedom of religion.

No where is there a freedom from hearing seeing what one does not like. Trying to impose such is anti-freedom.

The establishment clause of the first amendment does grant the freedom FROM religion, so that is another way to look at it

TSgt (Join to see) - All freedom ends or becomes limited when they deny another their right. Unless someone is being forced to read or hear something there is no violation of another's rights.

I would also like to see just where the freedom FROM religion is stated in the establishment clause.

The MRFF again? Those people are idiots.
I notice the piece calls them a "religious freedom group". That's the exact opposite of what they are.

Without resorting to name calling. Which, trust me, I really want to but I'm afraid of a lawsuit. It seems to me these guys only pick on select units. I have seen them win some and loose some but, what I would really like to see is what the Corps has to say to these guys. I think the Corps would have some "colorful adjectives" for these guys.

The Navy/USMC had a jet called 'The Crusader'. The Vought F8 Crusader

I am Catholic and so are many millions worldwide. A Crusader, right or wrong, fought for what he thought was right. The Pope, the Catholic Leader of the Church, called upon his flock to get Jerusalem back from the Moors/Muslims who conquered the land.

Right or wrong, it was the Catholic's Duty. What is so wrong about that? King Richard the Lionhearted from England went with his Army to fight. We named planes in the Navy/Marines called the Crusader. Boo hoo if the name of a Holy Warrior is offensive. We have Navy Squadrons named after warriors other than American. This organization is really silly! I bet that orgazization would not get mad if we changed the squadron's name and put a name like the Saladins or the Mongols, Joshua's Army, the Israelites, the Mohicans etc. it would still be cool since it shows a warrior spirit in the name of the plane.

With the serious issues facing this nation it is interesting that the "Military Religious Freedom Foundation" is focusing on the insignia of E Company, 1st Battalion, 212th Aviation Regiment SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL
It is sad that Mikey Weinstein named his organization the "Military Religious Freedom Foundation." A more fitting name would be "Censor of Religion in the Military Foundation."

Just like N. Korea has no freedom but they put the name Officially as the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea.

Nope. That shouldn't be done either per the establishment clause of the 1st amendment. The second half of the Establishment Clause inherently prohibits the government from preferring any one religion over another.

TSgt (Join to see) - What LTC (Join to see) is alluding to is the MRFF is quick to go against "Christian" themed crests, logos, heraldry, etc. If someone were to use a different religion they would not be so quick to jump on the lawsuit wagon. They selectively pick and choose which "religion" they want to go after.

SFC (Join to see) - We could have units called the Vandals (too bad we could not use funny punk names like the 'Circle Jerks' or 'The Dickies' then the so called Freedom Organizations would not know what to do LOL.

Prior to today, I'd never heard of these fuckwads. Can I hop in my time machine, go back to yesterday, and avoid the articles on RP about these cuntnuggets?

It was my understanding that in this country, most things were based on majority rule. How is it that so few can impact and so radically change things such as this?

It will be if they take my suggestions and call the Squadron the Knights of Saladin. I liked his charachter in the movie Kingdom of Heaven. They are as much religious freedom as North Korea and East Germany were for being 'Democratic'
