Maj Marty Hogan good read and share: guess what
"The U.S. military is fatter than ever, and the Army is leading the way with more than one in 10 soldiers considered clinically overweight, according to new Defense Department data obtained by Military Times"
Time for Drill Sergeant Davis to come out of retirement and get the troops motivated and in shape!

The high BMI in the Marines may be due to higher muscle mass.
"... a person with exceptional muscle tone and low fat is more likely to have a higher BMI compared to someone with higher fat and lower muscle tone — this happens because muscle is four times as dense as fat tissue. In fact, many professional football players’ BMIs would place them in the obese category when they’re actually in better shape than the average person."

Thanks for sharing Maj Marty Hogan. Considering SEC DEF wanted to relax the recruiting standards for weight and fitness, this article highlights the issues facing the military services already.
As a trained and experienced ORSA I take "survey" results like this with many grains of salt.
Body mass index was one of the more accurate techniques for assessing fitness.

According to BMI I am over weight. I rran marathons and an average of 25 miles every week. BMI is an indicator but at 160 I am not obese or over weight.
