Could not agree more.
Additionally, if everyone started focusing on adding to their life instead and focusing on the positive instead of taking away (atonement) and focusing on the negative ... maybe, just maybe, many might actually develop a much more positive attitude instead of one where they're just trying to get through life.

I totally agree! I vowed this year to be more appreciative of the little things that make each day worthy of a smile, and less focused on worrying about things I have little or no control over.

Maybe I didn't go to a New Years celebration, make resolutions and some enchantment might be nice and I sure hope 2023 it better than 2022 was. What I may do at home that I have control over or even at work is fine the problem's though stem directly from a mismanaged, inept Administration for the Federal Government thanks to the extreme Liberal left. The impact though massive inflation, spending money We don't have and continued robbery from the taxpayers only puts up deeper into the hole. I find local and State governments aren't doing much better either and for many of the same reasons. (perhaps excluding the same level of extreme senile, inept, left leaning leadership at the Executive level) I don't see much enchantment coming in 2023 although I hope I'm wrong but I don't hold a lot of hope for the right things happening and fixing what they broke !

I hear you. All this suggests is that daily, put aside a bit of time to find something good, positive, maybe nature related, that makes you feel good.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - I find also once winter is over and I can get back outside that always helps. I also find being around other people tend to help a lot any time of year. What I don't need is any negative impact, control or excessive expense including taxes which is already out of control. Most of our life is good, family certainly, a nice neighborhood , good neighbors overall a nice town to live in. Our own activities as a family We can control and that usually come out ok and We support each other. That sometimes has challenges but ones We do have some control over ourselves and We can keep our sanity in that arena anyway. Of course our neighbors, local business owners, friend any everyone else here is in the same boat and doing fine in their own lives but still feeling the impact of extreme government mismanagement and waste. Much of the government waste also is not taking care of what they have, letting it fall into extreme disrepair and by not maintaining it expect us to pay to replace.

Having mentioned the negative and a few positive with people mostly, the location of our house woodlands, streams etc. taking through the glass of a sliding door on our home , (it was raining) seeing this visitor was great. My Wife took the photo. Often We will have 5 or 6 deer in the yard. Our bird feeder have constant visitors and squirrels fed from other means, Entertains both us and out cat who doesn't miss a bit of the action and watching Her (our watch cat) nothing goes on that She misses. There is plenty of wildlife around here, racoons, foxes, wildcats, turkeys, coyotes and plenty of others. Had a field about a half mile from the house where by My actual count there were 27 deer in a herd grazing there. In a small town the activities here and people also are great.

The saying is that we notice what we look for. So if you look for the negative, you will find it. And if you look for the positive, you will find it, too. It's a learned habit, just like learning to scan for animals in the wild for a hunter (or photographer). Gratitude is the same way. The more we look for things (even tiny things) to be grateful for, the more things to be grateful for will pour into our lives.
Sure, there will still be things to knock us down, and like any habit, it's hard to break the one and hard to star accomplishing the other. But, with practice, it will come. Sometimes starting a gratitude journal or just jotting down a note when you go to bed each evening, thinking through your day and listing a few things that we noticed during the day that were good, or beautiful or that we are thankful for, can help build the habit. (Even if it's something like, "I'm grateful I had food to eat today", or "Thankful for warm clothes", or "Thankful that I saw a pretty sunrise", or even "Thankful that I woke up this morning." There is always something. And the more you practice, the more you find.

I actually do agree, I few times I suggested to My Wife for example , once You have seen the news , don't keep watching it, it can get to depressing, just try to enjoy the day and what is right here. Day to day life at home isn't a bad thing at all as is also true with our own social activities.
