That says a lot about how Russians are viewing their survivability closer to their targets.

Right. They clearly don't own that airspace and I've also heard that their pilots don't get anywhere close to the flight hours that NATO pilots get.

MSgt Robert "Rock" Aldi - Remember that well, was working with Reagan Administration at the time. There was more to the story than met the eye and some Soviet heads, albeit low level, rolled but there was never a formal apology that I remember.
