Just One more Thing NOT Taught In Our K-12 Schools
But Damned Well Should Be: "Basic Economics"
And, So Long As They're At It, How About A Little Something About Finance & Business.?
Even With That Worthless High School Diploma,
They Still Can't Balance Their Own Damned Check Book.
Thank The Gods I Had Enough Sense To Make MY "Senior Year" The 8th Grade;....
Then Became Self-Educated And Actually Received An Education.
fkn public schools.

GARY, That's Exactly What We Need More Of In Our Schools, Vocational Training, Specialized Subjects; Just About Anything Other Than The Junk They've Been Foisting On The Students At Present.
We Have A Few Of Those Type Schools Out Here In Vegas, But We Sure Could Use More. We Just Need To DUMP The Crap Being Brought Into The Classroom Presently;
As Little Of It Serves Any Purpose To The Individuals Employment Assistance Or Even Their Lives In General. From The 7th - 12th Grades , The Years Are Wasted. ..
After 6th Grade It's Mostly Lost Time, Money & Effort For All Concerned.
Totally Time Shot In The Ass.

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - When I was in school, each county had at least one Vocational school. Ours was right behind the regular HS building, I was in Machine shop and we like the other trades spent a couple hours doing book work for our trade, and another 2-3 hours in the shop doing hands-on work. In my Sr year outside Businesses would come in with jobs for us to do for them. The kids that stayed on the academic track looked down on us. I wonder how many of them that went on to a four year college are still paying off their debts (and they should be the only ones to pay them, they took out the loans & signed the contracts.)

SPC Gary C. - ...... No Doubt, The Right Path For You & Many Others.
But One In Every County Isn't Nearly Enough, And Many Other Trades Should Also Be Taught. Unless One Has Specialized Training, Their Future Remain In Question.
Without U.S.A.F.I, While I Was In The Air Force, I Don't Know What I'd Be Having To Do For A Living, Unless I'd Worked For GM Or FMC In Their Plants..
As It Was However, Do To USAFI's Great Programs, I Was One Of FMC's Purchasing Department Directors, Someone Public Education Would Have NEVER Allowed Me To Be..... Consider The Following If The Thought Of College Attendance Comes Up:

57.5% of College Graduates Don't Work in Their Field of Study

57.5% of College Graduates Don't Work in Their Field of Study jerryoneclass 7 Dec 2018 5 min read Five years ago, it was only 27% according to a study by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Given the short time for such a drastic shift to occur, that’s a startling jump. Should this be concerning?
