Veterans' Services Director Keith Jermyn is asking residents to line the streets of Hingham Monday as the body of active duty Marine Matthew Partyka is brought home following his death in North Carolina.
Partyka, a 25-year-old Hingham native, died by suicide while on leave in Camp Legeune, North Carolina. His remains will return to Hingham under Massachusetts State Police escort on Monday, July 18. Arrival to the Hingham town line is expected at about 7:15 p.m.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel This is sad. Another suicide of one of ours in uniform. I just wonder is anyone noticed the signs. There are almost always a sign that an attempted suicide is about to take place. I think maybe the military should have a mandatory suicide awareness class annually for a couple hours followed by a short test to make sure they paid attention. (We, as teachers in Tennessee are required to do this annually. It only takes about a half hour) It could save a life if early intervention takes place.
