Failure and defeat are not something that is stood for, and yet our strategic defeat was one that overshadowed that of St Clair's debacle in just how bad that NEO operation was run. Some senior leaders do not see themselves as part of the problem and failure.. CJCS does not seem to. But he is but one that will be held to blame. This was CENTCOM's baby. They failed to the highest degree in planning the withdraw, coordinating with NATO a turnover, and then there was the unilateral NEO that was not under NATO when the Operation was. Holding an airhead is not a NEO..... the people do not come to you -- you get them and get out. If you are going to point fingers at who should resign - CENTCOM CDR comes first... and the DCG, and the J3. All need to fired and investigated. Only after an investigation should they be allowed promotion.

So, no oversight by Congress? Don’t tell them that.
