Out F-ing Standing :) ZERO DEFECT Leadership should be outlawed and those pushing for it should get their ass whipped with an aluminum baseball bat with threaded rod secured through it it multiple places near the tip. Empty uniforms spouting even emptier leadership quotes just to cover their ass while protecting their collars and pension should be the first to go.

Man...reading this, you'd almost think Air Force cats think they're in the military.

MSgt Gary Petersen
I was in fact "in the military". I spent quite some time reminding those around me of that fact.

MSgt Neil Greenfield I always summed it up this way: I have many tasks that I perform every day, but I have only two jobs in the Air Force:
1. To ensure the people who work for me are rightfully viewed as the finest professionals and experts in whatever venue that they are viewed!
2. To ensure the people who I work for are rightfully viewed as the finest professionals and leaders in whatever venue they are viewed.
I would then point out the following: At no point did I say make sure MSgt Council makes CMSgt. No, as long as I do my two jobs, my career will take care of itself. I believe this was born out by my selection as the #1 SNCO in the entire Air Force for intelligence in 2004 and when I made SMSgt and was on track to make CMSgt. I decided for personal reasons to decline the stripe that I had earned and retire. Many of my superiors and subordinates have thrived in their careers and many have stayed in touch. I have been invited to many of their retirements as well. I was proud of each of them when they worked with me and I remain proud of each and every one of them today! Leading them was a supreme honor.
