Yes, we have an illegal immigration problem, but we also have thousands of Mexicans that legally go back and forth over the border everyday. Aiding and abetting? You would have to actually be assisting and have knowledge of a crime in order for this to apply and there is no way for a hotel employee to know if someone is here legally or not. Even if you know a crime has been committed, you have no legal obligation to become involved. If I, as an American, decide to stay at a hotel, I hope to show ID, pay my fee, put my license plate info on their paperwork, and expect my information not be given to anyone just because a hotel employee decides he should provide it to someone. If I am legally being investigated and police come in and ask specifically about me, then fine. But hotel employees should not be giving out personal info on guests.
