More air traffic and noise expected during military exercise this month

There will be more air traffic and therefore aircraft noise for the first few weeks of May during a large-scale military exercise, according to Joint Base Elemendorf-Richardson.

The exercise, Northern Edge 21, begins Monday and is a joint training exercise led by Pacific Air Forces at military installations, local airports and training areas within the state, the base said in an online statement. Four branches of the military will participate in the training exercise, which is scheduled to last until May 14, the base said.
