(6/13/24) Michigan Judge Christopher Yates just ruled that Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s Election Manual sent to election officials across the state is unconstitutional and against state law. Regarding signature verification for mail-in ballots, Judge Yates declared that the “initial presumption” of validity in signature verification of absentee-ballot applications and envelopes mandated by the Benson’s Dec. 2023 guidance manual issued is incompatible with the Constitution and laws of the State of Michigan.
Republicans argued that relaxed signature match rules amounted to a Democratic attempt to subvert elections and increases opportunities for mischief while attorneys for SOS Benson maintained that the state’s 2023 election guidance only instructed clerks to presume validity initially – not throughout the signature review process.
But Yates didn’t buy it. “…A presumption is a presumption is a presumption,” the Judge wrote in the order. “Whether the guidance includes a gentle nudge instead of a hip check, it’s still a foul under Michigan law.”

What a load of Horse Hockey. Initial presumption means there won't be another look during the rest of the process. IMO the only folks that should be getting mail in ballots are those that are out of the country on Official Gov't business, and folks that are medically home bound, with a Dr's note.

SGT (Join to see) SP5 Robert Kennedy Everything here (MI) is so lax ; even though I heard 49 states have the way open to sign illegals up to vote, I’m pretty sure Blue states like MI are actively making this happen. On our SOS website, it says you don’t need ID to vote!

SGT Rick Whitmire, I like your post. I was born and raised and drafted in Detroit MIchigan. If you know Cass Lake, I lived my last Michigan years on that lake with my favorite speedboat. I have family still in MI. I've never been so disgusted with American voters in my life. The left has done a job on way too many Americans who'd rather believe the lame media BS than to research the issues personally. That's what we were supposed to learn during our school days.

Correct and great ruling. Judges need to keep rendering opinions based on the law.
