Mattis on Military Parade: We’re All Aware of the President’s Respect for the Military

Here's the story. The President has asked for a parade. As with anything and everything else the President does, the media (the popular and news media) spins it to make the President look as bad as possible. They even attempt to get the Sctry of Defense to help them. Well folks, that ain't gonna happen. He sticks to the facts. Sad isn't it, that journalists can't stick to the facts and keep their opinions on the opinion pages.

Why is it that it's the journalists who are making him look like a fool when it wasn't the journalists who wanted the parade in the first place? Mattis is only going to do as told, and if need be either slow roll it (ala Trans troops study), or flat out say no (ala DACA troops).

SSgt Christopher Brose - No. I really don't. I expect and acknowledge there is slants in reporting, agendas in reporting, and in some rare cases personal bias with reporting. It's not a left or right thing, it's just a thing in itself. Again when you put yourself in a position or open your mouth and say something that is clearly questionable, you cannot pick and choose how the message will go out to the masses. Now even Fox is reporting SUPERSEAL06 O'Neil says this is some "Third world shit".

Mattis isn't the one to be tested, but he IS the one who knows the DOD system in and out, has leverage for decades, and when you try to make him the fool, you're actually the fool. He'ss is in the perfect power position for him to maximize his strengths. I think he'd suck as a congressman or a President even though I'd vote for him. He's too smart, suffers no suckers, kiss asses, or can be bought. His name rings hard like Patton but without the grace of Powell. Those alone would be reasons that if he ran for office, he wouldn't be there long. He just won't play the game.
