Marjorie Taylor Greene accuses Joe Biden of treason

Marjorie Taylor Greene has called for the ongoing Republican impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden to be expanded to cover his policy over migration across the southern border, which she dubbed treason.

The House Republican also backed the suggestion that Biden's border policy amounts to "insurrection," and thus he should be removed from the 2024 presidential ballot in red states. This appears to be retaliation for the Colorado Supreme Court ruling that Donald Trump is not eligible to run for president again in the state because of his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election result and the January 6 2021 attack on Congress by his supporters.

Republicans reacted with fury to the Colorado court's ruling on Tuesday, which Trump's team have vowed to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. The 4-3 decision was based on section three of the Constitution's 14th Amendment. This states no person shall be "a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military" who after taking an oath "to support the Constitution" went on to engage in "insurrection or rebellion." Republicans in a number of states have suggested Biden should be removed from 2024 presidential ballots in response.
