I was a city boy who'd only fired a .22 a couple of times. I wound up scoring marksman with the M14 in BCT . . .

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. - Shooting pop ups for me was a piece of cake, heck I grew up shooting bottle caps off the fence post at 100 ft or more. Now pistols just good enough to qualify, we never had a pistol when I grew up, all rifles and shotguns.

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. Great shooting and normally I would say quite an achievement but with a scope? We used iron sights back in my day. A 249 then would have been remarkable.

Big deal, he's using optical sights. We had a kid in my Boot Camp company fire that with iron sights on an M16A1.
