Lawmakers order Army to create separate fitness standard for combat specialties

Why not? Politicizing the military has worked for other nations, hasn't it?

This is dumb. Everyone is potentially susceptible to combat scenarios. I am a former Cyberspace Warfare Officer from the AIR FORCE, and I still found myself going out on missions outside the wire, manning DFPs, training Afghans, and serving on Guardian Angel duty. Still, note the word "consider" from "The move would also require all of the armed services to consider separate fitness standards for troops in non-combat jobs". Hopefully the military considers it and then tells lawmakers to pound sand (respectfully of course).
