Thanks for letting us know Maj Marty Hogan that November 11 is the anniversary of the birth of American writer and U.S. Army veteran Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
I have read many Kurt Vonnegut stories, He is a wonderful American author who had the gift of satire in away which reminded me of Jonathan Swift.

Slaughterhouse-Five is somewhat biographical since after he was captured by the Germans during the Battle of the Bulge. He was interned in Dresden and survived the Allied bombing of the city by taking refuge in a meat locker of the slaughterhouse where he was imprisoned.
I read it while I was a cadet at USMA in English class.

If you haven’t read Vonnegut, you never saw a preview of today’s culture.
