"On December 22, 1939, born on this day, James Gurley, guitarist with Big Brother and the Holding Company who with Janis Joplin had the 1971 US No.1 single 'Me And Bobby McGee', and the 1971 US No.1 album Pearl. Gurley died on December 20, 2009, from a heart attack two days before his 70th birthday."

I actually saw Big Brother perform at a local ‘concert’ here in NC
I have always loved Joplin and was so sad when she died...she had been clean for a while and then one last time was her last time... I read somewhere recently her Porsche was sold for quite a lot! SGT (Join to see)
