Sure is a lot cheaper than M1A1s - and you can buy alot more... as long as your not expecting to have to fight against M1A1s..... Several other Russian arms deals in Iraq show it is moving away from US weapon systems.... and towards the ones that allies Syria and Iran have..

In the grande scheme of things, knowing the level of education of Iraqi troops, giving them a US made weapons system is IMHO a waste of time.
