I have ‘discovered’ the ‘human connection’ dies nit necessarily need to be physical connection. The brain is powerful and a ‘sense’ of connection can be as powerful & helpful as physical touch...that being said, research has proven physical contact is imperative in the early stages of development.

We clinicians recognize the vital importance of affiliation and affection from others. It is a vital need for survival. And w/o others, there can be no self. Our personality is created by multiple inputs of many others. In Alzheimer's, a person will first lose the others before they lose the sense of self.
