I always love when senior officers and command sergeants major are talking about ignoring regulations -- usually they are correct that the regulations are stupid, but I have a problem with the message that individual soldiers should decide which regulations to follow and I have to wonder why we have people like these saying the regulations are wrong but no one is fixing them.

MAJ Montgomery Granger
It reminds me of mobilization training - the third time - when wounded warriors from OIF II were training us up on how to shoot in combat as opposed to on the qual range. How does the Army spend so much time and effort and resources teaching soldiers how to qualify on a weapon, when those same skills fall way short on the actual battlefield? Do you do what combat vet says WORKS and will keep you ALIVE, or what your Drill Sergeant taught you? Consider the circumstances. Consider the CONTEXT, and then do what will keep you ALIVE and your buddies SAFE.
