Never, never tell your plans to the enemy. His team is as stupid as he is!

That is really silly to say considering the US and the Taliban have been negotiating a withdrawal for some time.

Override? That implies that "the brass" is in charge. They're not. The President is the Commander in Chief. Civilian control of the military is a corner stone of the constitution.

MCPO Roger Collins - you're asking me to comment on a hypothetical that never actually occured?
Well if we're using our imaginations... "Sure I did! Not only did I support him, I bought a MAGA hat as a show of solidarity!".
Not really sure what that bit of imagineering brought to the table, but thanks for the thought experiment, I guess...

SPC Cody Verba - You're getting it backwards. The President is the Superior position. "The brass" are subordinate.

SPC Cody Verba - and yet, your post indicated the opposite. Don't get mad at others for what you type.

Hmm. It appears that somebody must be stuck with military industrial stock that is taking a nose dive. LOL!

“Politico did not reach out to the White House or the National Security Council for comment for this story despite having four reporters on the byline. Had they done so, we would have said that this was a completely inaccurate and poorly-informed storyline coming from former officials who were not even part of the policy process the Biden Administration ran on Afghanistan. President Biden and National Security Advisor Sullivan placed enormous importance on running an inclusive, rigorous, and thorough policy review of our options in Afghanistan, seeking the informed expertise of military, diplomatic and humanitarian government experts at every step of the way. The President, as the Commander in Chief, made the final decision based on the advice of his national security team.”
