I have a good friend, named Jeff.
He is a veteran.
He suffers from combat-related "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder" (or "PTSD").
He opened up to me a bit the other day.
He said, veterans come home from serving, but many really never "get home," because of their emotional scars from the battlefield.
Many never fit back in to everyday relationships.
Many cringe when fireworks go off on holidays.
Many never fit back into a "job."
They may get applause and a "thank you" on Veterans Day, but many never get relief from the psychological suffering.
Jeff also shared some hope, and a way that veterans with PTSD are getting help.
It’s brand new, it’s created by a veteran, it’s called Rapid Resolution Therapy or RRT, and it’s free for veterans.
So I write this email to you for 1 of 2 reasons today…
1. If you are a veteran, thank you. I appreciate you. If you struggle with "getting home," follow this link
http://www.operationwarriorresolution.org and you may have a chance to find it again, I encourage you to investigate this type of help. It’s working for many like you.
2. If you are not a veteran, but know someone who is (or even just "care" about veterans), and you want to come alongside them, help hold up a soldier on your home soil, then even just a $3 donation here can be a big help.
https://secure.givelively.org/donate/operation-warrior-resolution-inc/operation-warrior-resolution-combat-ptsd-retreat-fundraiserI admire the brave men and woman that have served, who stand for a cause they believe in, and so do many other Americans. Please remember if you are a veteran, we see you, we love you, and many stand with you.
