We have had some inflation over the years before President Biden took office. We do know that President Trump left with a 1.2% inflation rate and a 6% growth rate.

Biden and the Democrats have destroyed the American economy. I went to the store to pick up six items. I walk out having spent almost $60! I remember not too long ago that $60 would fill up about 1/2 of a shopping cart.

We did not have good economic policy under Nixon, and Price controls failed. Ford's Whip Inflation Now did not work. The Fed has learned a lot since the 1970s and early 80s. Both Nixon, Ford and Carter were hit by the oil shock of the Yom Kippur War and the Iranian Revolution.
Paul Volcker under Reagan did keep interest rates high and a recession, as we both recall from 1980-1983. It was improved in 1984 onward by Trickle-down economics in spite of the Cold War and large expenses for our NATO commitment to the military in Europe.
