I feel for the victims of gun violence but taking guns away from law abiding citizens will not fix this.

I patently disagree with his assumptions that most support universal background checks and common sense gun laws. I for one do not. I can’t recall anyone I know supporting either as well.

We have gun control laws. Hundreds (maybe thousands?) of them. What the liberal left wants is absolute government intel and control of exactly who has exactly what measures of self-defense. Senior government leaders will be the only ones who the new laws do not apply to. They are above these laws. These laws would represent just another step in removing fundamental freedoms from every citizen, and we barely even think about that aspect becuse the media is feeding us a continuous barrage of "gun violence" stories with never a story about some poor girl who was beaten and raped for lack of an ability to defend herself. Our liberal leaders want a nation of sheep...dependant, helpless, needy, and cowardly.

I agree 100% with what You have said and its apparent that Mr Bloomberg has no respect at all for us and individuals and intends to force what He thinks is best down everyone else throat. The last thing in the world We need is government thinks for us and making all our daily choices for us. People like Him already seem to think they are elite and the laws that apply to the rest of us don't apply to them. I have no problem with obeying reasonable laws We have some control over and apply to everyone on a equal basis and be able to live our day to day life making our own decisions for ourselves and also respecting the rights of others on an equal basis.
