My civilian dentist was a former Air Force dentist. I never had an issue with any dentist I saw in the military.

After I retired I found a local civilian dentist. The first thing she said upon inspecting my teeth was, "Were you in the military". LOL

Similar for me, but it was in the context of "you couldn't afford to do all this as a civilian." It's the same now, except that as a 100% service-connected disabled vet, the VA pays to send me to civilian dentists because I live too far away.
