Even here the big cruisers from any manufacturer is facing uphill battles. The younger generation that are coming into the age where they have discretionary income aren't looking at cruisers and there just isn't the interest overall in Motorcycles compared to my generation. The more reactive Japanese companies are focused on smaller bikes with better performance, look at the series of sub 500 cc bikes that have been introduced over the past five years. Nor is there the stigma regarding riding scooters and I see more and more 125 cc plus scooters on the road these days, driven by the fact that not many under 30 know what a clutch is for.
I would not want to ride a Fat Boy in the traffic I've seen in clips of India.

I honestly question if India is a good market for them. They don't build anything two stroke, everything they build costs more than their competition over there, so how many units would they really sell. Yes maybe the Chinese HD would sell, but who the hell want the Chinese HD when they start to break down? They really need to look at some other areas than worrying about selling in India.

CW3 Kevin Storm Completely agree. HD relies on brand name to charge a premium for their product with well to do recreational bikers. India is a commodity focused market for motorcycles, without the same (as far as i know) focus on recreational biking by people who can afford to pay a premium. Unless they want to compete on value for price (which would be a very different position for them), they are going to have a hard time finding a market.

Well, WOW. The headline was a shocker- the story is "out there." I have to keep telling myself that America is not the (entire) world. Had a Sporty, dressed as a 1950 hardtail- lost in a divorce. H-Ds have always intrigued me. Had a Z-1 Kaw that was head and shoulders a much better ride- but H-D is H-D

PO2 Patrick Tays - Thanks. The seat is a Corbin. I would like a shorter back rest seat but since it is a suicide shift/foot clutch it is nice to have something to hold me on when I get on it a bit! LOL

PO2 Patrick Tays - Here is my latest ride. A buddy of mine had a bike shop (he recently died of cancer) and we put this together out of left over parts from other builds. I call it the ReCycle. He just called it a rat bike. Bare steel. No paint. The seat isn't overly comfortable but as a tribute to my friend it will stay as is.
