I know I took an Oath a lifetime ago to protect and defend the Constitution and that mean the people's right for free speech is part of that sacred Oath, but something stands out in my memory, coming out of the jungle after an extended operation and seeing the American Flag flying over the artillery fire base in the Central Highlands can't to this day remember and not get misty so I kind of get angry when the Flag is disrespected.

SGT Philip Roncari Well said Philip. I'm all for free speech but I think burning the flag should not be one of those rights. I feel it should be protected.

SFC William Farrell ,we seem to be on the same page Brother ,but then how can it be otherwise ,most if not all of these protesters have never really been tested by anything harder than their selection of Starbucks coffee in the morning.

My opinion understand but when i hear the Star Spangled Banner and see the Flag my eyes get a bit misty. When i think of all our Brave Service members Brother's and Sister's risking their lives for this country. I find it very difficult to forgive anyone who would disgrace it. We see all the time the enemies of our country burning it does that make it right. The flag is a symbol of our nation and it's people to disgrace that is to disgrace all before and present, future American;s who have died for it.

Best news I've seen today, SFC William Farrell. Matt Urhin deserves a soldier's salute for stepping into the line of fire. And hat tip to Fed Ex for doing the right thing as well. They should also promote him.
