Are these miscreants "emboldened by the Trump presidency" or are they a reaction to the extremists of the Progressive Left who are rioting and looting in response to Hillary's loss last November? Of course, progressive journalists will assume the former. This is how they inflame the passions of their dupes.

Based on recent history, I could venture a guess. What ever happened to protests being a 1st amendment right. Protesting the statue of a Civil War hero deserves a protest. More history revisionism. And before the real racists blast me, I was born and raised in Northern Indiana. Simply let nuts protest, ignore them, and it's over. The local officials made this decision, if you are a voter in the city, that is how you express your wishes.

It should be obvious, all the press could find were protester doing wrong in interviews and videos. The peaceful counter protesters were quietly sitting on the curb eating bon bons and peace signs.

If Virginia had gone with the Union Lee would have been leading the Union army (never really a possibility I know)I am not going to reargue the civil war or emancipation but Jefferson Davis was not the Republican candidate. Stop saying your right wing you're using the European definition of right wing Nazi, Fascism, i.e. socialism. This is like Red Army Faction and FARK and the Black Panthers all holding a Rally and Calling it Unite the Left.

Its Hate vs Hate in Charlottesville, VA. There are no winners in this situation. It does appear that the town of Charlottesville, and especially its people, are going to be the biggest losers.
