Just saw a TV documentary about the Maya and they mentioned that the elongated head was common among the Maya. They also attributed it to the manner in which babies were carried by their mothers. Remember there was no leisurely child rearing in those days, mothers carried children in a manner that kept their hands free to work. In the case of the Maya that was tightly bound to the chest and that position in a baby's formative years led to the elongated head. That theory makes more sense to me than aliens.

That's interesting, Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen... That is something I didn't know about... It is a strange occurrence in history... Since none of us living today were not witness, it is tough to pinpoint exactly... However, If the DNA was substantially different, then perhaps there was another level of humans we know little about... I have always been curious about this anomaly...

Sgt (Join to see) Interestingly, that same documentary traced Maya to sires in Florida and Georgia and talked about finding Maya DNA in current Native Americans from those areas. Don't know much about that subject but apparently the Maya had a very definitive marker in their DNA that makes tracing them relatively easy..

Sgt (Join to see) When my second son was born, his skull was elongated, not to a point, but disturbing. I complained to the OB MD and he said, “I’ll fix that” and disappeared. He returned in a few minutes and said, “is this better?” It was!
