I find him disingenuous when he claimed he had no problems with China claiming the South China Sea as its own. However, he has ratified a treaty to give the US access to five bases a few weeks ago. I don't know if any of the bases can accommodate a US fleet.

What was the outcome of the Spratly and Paracel skirmish LTC Eric Udouj Sir.? Also, what is the significance of the 'Pearls of China', from the Bay of Bengal to the Gulf, in the context of the OBOR & MSR initiatives?
I will look forward to your response, Sir.

World Court outcome ruled in favor of the Philippines. Its from that point that the outcome goes into three areas of perceptions - the US - the Philippines - and PRC. First there was the dislike of the two presidents - and then followed PRC offering a financial package of infrastructure investment.... and then there is the US patrols passing by the PRC's modern version of Rabul built of sand. String of Pearls goes hand in hand with the New Silk Road programs.. it is the building of new ports and facilities and attempting to get naval leases as a part of it. We are seeing it in the South Pacific as well - and it has Australian very concerned. Now if you are really watching the region - then you know that PM Modi has shaken up everything - by injecting India onto the global stage... and doing diplomacy in the region well past what was the case 5 years back.
