So Trump tells us, with a straight face, that Kim Jong Un loves his people, and they love him, and there is no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea. Then he is filmed saluting a North Korean general to top it off. I'm waiting for all those people that pitched a fit when Obama bowed to a foreign leader, to tell me why saluting that guy is just fine.

A bow to a monarch is a sign of submission. Just like our ships NEVER dip our flags to foreign warships.

Returning a salute is common courtesy.

I'm waiting for those pitching a fit about common courtesy to explain how intentionally slighting/insulting high level officials of the DKRP improves relations and leads to lessening tension, a possible declaration of peace, and de-nuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

Sometimes you gotta pick your fights.

Have to disagree, Major Bell. A salute is a sign of respect.....as is a bow in many other cultures. I have interacted with with people from Asian cultures, and we gave a little bow to each other.....never intending to be subservient.... but as a sign of respect.

I wonder if the people Kim loves so much are the ones in prison or out?

No different than President Obama enjoying the company of domestic terrorists and choosing mentors that are known Muslim fanatics

At the time and the condition it seems like something that a necessary evil to forward their agendaAnd what they feel is best for the country whether or not that’s true or not in history

And since I can’t edit I’ll just add another response

Arjen Stone being childish and calling the president a derogatory name and then shouting it’s a lie
It’s not how intelligent adults have a conversation if you’re not willing to participate as an intelligent adult why are you here?

It’s a well-known tactic of those who have no argument to just shout out it’s a lie without any support

Actually I was able to watch this stuff on TV in real time. At the Press Conference in Singapore, President Trump stated very clearly, he knew human rights was an issue and it would be addressed later. He stated the whole purpose of this meeting was to seek an immediate commitment to denuclearize to avoid a direct military conflict. He stated over the next weeks and months they will refine what was signed and slowly arrive at a formal treaty. Right after the conference the media completely ignored most of what he said and started to criticize how short the agreement signed was and how it lacked details, etc, etc. Geez folks you can count the people there that both the POTUS flew to Singapore as well as the people North Korea brought to the conference and quickly figure out that neither side brought enough people to work on or sign a formalized peace treaty. The whole concept of that being done in what 2-3 months lead time before the meeting........absolutely ridiculous.

SSgt Ray Stone - If it was any other dictator I might agree but it is a dictator with Nuclear weapons. Democrats treat the Chinese and the Russians the same way in Obama's early years. They are Dictators with Nuclear weapons as well. As for disrespecting our allies, Trump has found when he talks tough he gets results. Two ways to resolve our trade disputes, we can take the slow 10-15 year approach via a WTO dispute..........which is what our "allies" want us to do or we can threaten tarriffs and get their attention in a matter of weeks or months. Lets see, one method is better for the U.S. Economy and the other not so much. There could be a third approach and that would be to rewrite the WTO processes to be faster.......none of our "allies" are for that option and you can guess why.
