How about some good news today! One of our Brothers out there generating awareness for Veterans!
Purple Heart recipient Troy Green trudged into a veterans care facility here as part of his effort to raise money for those who served their country. Turning off U.S. Highway 36 onto a flag-lined Cameron road, the veteran was awed by the site that awaited him.

“My goodness, that’s better than what the president gets,” he said with a big smile.

Police cars, fire trucks, ambulances and motorcyclists lined up to follow the tired walker as he headed for the Missouri Veterans Home. Mothers and their children as well as people who discovered him on Facebook were waiting at intersections to cheer him on his way.

With a 50-pound pack on his back, Green started walking across the state of Missouri to generate awareness and funding for veterans.
