We were discussing this earlier. I would trust the military over civilian justice any time

Well, I always knew this after I retired. I was reminded of it when about 25 years ago the Secretary of the Navy recalled a retired Navy Chief back to active duty for his court-martial after he was investigated by NCIS and charged for some military crime he committed against the UCMJ while he lived in the Philippines post-retirement. He had to fly to Hawaii to report in or face extradition. So, yeah, they can come for you if they want to. From my observation, the services are pretty selective about this, since it costs lots of money. I don't hear of it being done often. But I guess if you commit a sufficiently serious violation against federal law that is also a UCMJ violation, and the feds don't want to prosecute you, then the military services can recall you to AD to have a go at you. Of course, ex-spouses who are receiving their cut of your retirement pay under the Military Spouse Protection Act of 1984 (or whatever it's called) are exempt.
