One report said that the local officials told those that didn't evacuate to take a Sharpie and write their name and social security number on their arm for identification after the storm. With a 10-12 foot storm surge, 130-160 MPH winds, and 40-50 inches of rain over the next five days, that sounds like good advice.
It would be better if they drove to Chicago to ride it out.
