Lincoln issued a proclamation of amnesty to all confederates and Johnson gave a pardon -- in the 160+ years since then, the Soldiers who've passed through the various named places have created a new legacy with their actions -- forgive, never forget, and drive on

Why do we even have military honors based off the Confederacy? They literally fought against America. Traitors.

A simple solution to the renaming issue - as the commission completely ignores the Native Americans in the matter and being that West Point was built on land stolen from various indigenous tribes seems the entire complex needs to be torn down and the land returned to its rightful owners. Nothing needs to be renamed as there is nothing to name.
