My Colt Combat Commander that I bought in the late 70's that cost $320 then, still is a good shooter, I just shot it last Sunday. But I noticed when shooting it, I must be getting very old, first time my wrist hurt after shooting that commander. My fault, I starting shooting it one handed, for some reason, my 1911's just feel very good shooting with one hand.

I have a Rock Island 1911 Officer 45 Never Had a Problem after about 1000 Rounds Through It, I Also Have a Colt 1911 45 G I Issue it gets Stovepipes all the time

While working for a very expericiend gunsmith in Spokane, I was taught one major rule:
There is no such thing as a "good" cheap gun.

Well the Rock Island was cheap and after thousands of rounds I sold it. I regret doing so. It was dependable, accurate and fun to shoot.
