MY SAY: CDC can't get out of their own way. This was not a mistake; purposely misleading to gauge reaction to mask mandates. Paranoid people will now re-mask. Masks are NOT effective protection against ANY virus. They are designed and worn by surgical staff to help prevent BACTERIAL infection of the surgical field. Bacteria are many times larger than virus particles and are more easily trapped in a surgical mask. The efficacy of surgical masks against viruses is ZERO.
