An appropriate example; Shell Shock is the exact same thing as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Changing the name or describing it differently doesn’t change the devastating effects it has on a person…. It only shelters those who don’t have it by making the diagnosis softer to the ear and not as jolting.
