Okay so here is my thing. How much of the "backlash" is truly based on health concerns and how much is based on it being a "Muslim issue"? The word "Muslim" has forever changed in the American dictionary and causes fear in the minds of thousands of people only based on the actions of a select few of the total population. By reading the article and paying close attention to the last 2 paragraphs as COL Ted Mc pointed out; you will see that Muslims are already dealing with their lost love ones by following some of our protocols.

Recently, I started watching a program on TV hosted by Morgan Freeman, how can you not watch a show with him; his voice is to tv what bacon is to food. In this programs, he looks at how the world religions look at certain things and death was one of them. Why would it be so bad to allow someone the right to send their loved one off to the after life as they see fit as long as it does not put others in danger.

SGT Ben Keen - Sergeant; The "backlash" is roughly equivalent to the "No Dogs or Irishmen Allowed" signs at the turn of the century or the "Whites Only" signs before and after that time.

By the article posted it seems like most people just don't want Muslim anything near them. I get it, the actions of a few crazy extremists have truly ruined it for good people who are Muslim, but some of the comments in the article are just ignorant. They said they would abide by " our rules" of a coffin or crypt, they would just like a designated place to bury their loved ones like everyone else. Honestly I would rather have a cemetery built by me than some fancy high rise bringing in tons of noise/traffic/crime! The US is not just Christian, it is a mixture of cultures, religions and ethnicities...that's what makes this country so great! ...... Keep an open mind people!

Ok, so just how much of this is "backlash" verses people voicing concern over something that is done differently? It seems lately that nearly anytime someone questions something Muslim in nature it's automatically "backlash". Here's a perspective on this; my uncle Gramp was the road agent. Part of Gramps duties besides tending the roads was to dig graves in coordination with the Sextent (grave keeper). Grave sites aren't separated by much space and unlined graves soil frequently caves into other sites. What do you think happens when an unlined grave side fails... Yes that's rite you have either a casket exposed or on older graves where the casket has decomposed you have exposed remains. Doesn't matter if you hand dig or machine dig; same result. In this case I think the questions and concerns over the different practice are justified.
