50 old, outmoded, and had poor handling quality World War I–era destroyers for bases in Newfoundland, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Trinidad, Antigua, and British Guiana... Sounds like a pretty good deal for the US!

After Having Read About Our Negotiations With Japan At The End Of WW II ~
NOTHING Surprises Me .~ It Was So Bad, You'd Think WE Surrendered To THEM.
Even The Japanese Were Amazed , We Gave Them Everything They Asked For And
Hardly Flinched ~~ Placed Our Bases Throughout Japan, Eliminating Their Need For
Military Forces, Hired 10's Of 1000's Of Japanese To Fill Civilian Positions, PAID For The Privileges Of Our Being There; ~Talk About A SNAFU? ~~~ Boy We Sure Showed Them! ~~what a bunch of suckers we are. And Were Still Continuing With These Things , Not Much HAS Changed.
