This should be made into an MBA class study on "How Not to Do It". Beer drinkers are overwhelmingly males, mostly straight males. So the Bud Light marketing person decides that the Bud Light "brand" is wilting when in fact it was #1 in sales in its market segment. She then decides that this product must be marketed to a new target audience and initiates a "brand alliance" with a "transgender influencer" named Dylan Mulvaney. Apparently she didn't make this plan known to her Anheuser-Busch corporate superiors nor to her product's purchasers. So a new ad appears, with a Bud Light can branded with a picture of Dylan Mulvaney dressed up like "Holly Golightly" from "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Her target audience reacts very badly and a boycott is organized. Sales tank, and now Bud Light has dragged Anheuser-Busch stock value down significantly, like -$5 billion. Despite clear messaging from the boycott organizers, Anheuser-Busch refuses to issue the unambiguous apology that might win back their customers. Their halfhearted efforts have in fact alienated the LGBTQ+ community, and a number of gay bars have stopped selling Bud Light because they feel Dylan Mulvaney has been disrespected. The longer this mess continues, the harder it will be to win the Bud Light customers back. Even now, distributers literally cannot give away Bud Light.

You stole my line Brother Scott. I was scrolling through to see if anyone used it and there it is. So true.
