All Native American mascots/nicknames must go, New York says

Will the state also force changes in places named for Native American history. Why is NY GOV Kathy Hochul canceling Native Americans? This is discrimination! I have Cherokee and Mi'kmaq in my direct ancestry, and I am not offended. In fact, I am offended when people suggest we should erase Native American presence in American culture. The Cancel Culture got rid of the beautiful Native American woman on the box of Land-O-Lakes butter, got rid of Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben - African American depictions on syrup and rice, respectively. Many towns, places, schools and streets have Native American names, will those be cancelled, too? In America, we have small bodies of governance called school boards, town councils, mayors, etc., all elected officials whose job it is to listen to the people and make decisions in concert with local sensibilities. Where is the freedom and liberty in this decision? Where is the democracy?
