Is she trying to say that blacks and Hispanics can't handle algebra and geometry? Appears so to me.

When I was in school, I always thought that algebra and geometry were there for the sole purpose of making it hard for me to keep my GPA high enough to suit up with the team on Friday nights. They served no other purpose that I could see.

I haven't checked lately but when I was in high school during the 50s, we had three different types of diplomas: Academic, General, and Vocational. Only those bound for college needed an Academic diploma and that required higher math. Is it different now?

Don't know. I took them because I was on a college prep track....that was in the 60's. All my grandkids take them, and I don't think they are all college bound. Maybe it's just for fun?
