TSgt,
I read the article. A complicated subject when dealing with Air power, rescue of downed pilots, communication and integration of new tech.
IMO, it is always a better plan to KISS, keep it simple stupid, When dealing with forward elements. That does not mean to be stupid. But, to get the lane narrow when moving forward in hostile ground. For example: Your mission is to land on this ridge, direct fire for (name your aircraft group), as the enmey is moving north. You will be picked up at this location after you make the call in 30min, or less. Support is standing by.
Also, the more individuals and teams work together, the better for everyone involved. Like a strong football team.
I am not experienced in Air combat control. But, I am experienced in Murphy's law. Things change and FUBAR's happen. But, keeping the mission focussed with limited moving parts helps everyone and the win.
I will stop here, as each category is worth a large book of info.
Just my 2cts TSgt.

TSgt David L.
Cpl Mark A. Morris, KISS is the rule. Situations change and sometimes plans go to shit. That's why we train for the "what if" scenario. Thanks for your thoughts.

And this is going to take 12 YEARS? Seems like high AF brass is not keeping their restructure simple.
