Yeah, I mean, think of it...why not? Take Tue whole USCG HITRON thing...it relies on a human to take out a drug boat engine, if you watch the YouTube videos about it...I mean, one of the Gatling guns from one of these or a variant of it, could obv decimate a drug boat engine, one would think, if it could be made accurate enough, under computer control, maybe on an AI pattern recognition level, there as I understand, it's a law enforcement thing to actually capture crooks and bad guys and their cargo...however, in the case of a piracy thing, as in the Somali case, or analogous instances, I've seen countless videos of shipboard efforts to take them out with deck guns...one would certainly think an Osprey fitted with one of these or something comparable could totally neutralize a private vessel pretty much instantly, and also yet be able to be made to be capable of landing on any destroyer escort type helicopter platform...now, of one used a standard helicopter rather than an Osprey, that further permutes the concept more flexibly...plus, everybody' been yakking about the whole close air support (CAS) thing, and the relative virtues of A-10s vs F-35 or F-22, as the case may be...one of these stuck on an Osprey could fill a CAS niche quite nicely, I should think, you know? Plus, it'd have most likely quite long loiter to!e, esp if aerial refueling was added, which I'd expect must certainly exist for Ospreys, and, if carrier based air refueling was added into the mix, possibly making such an Osprey drone capable, that'd he a pretty awesome force multiplier with zero aircrew risk, if it could be made AI automated, I also thought, you know?

The closest thing the USAF has to the A-10 but it doesn't do the same "station keeping" the A-10 can

I realize, however, I've always understood it can orbit a site for a fairly long loiter time, which was what got my !mental gears going about adding a Gatling to an Osprey, I sent in an article about a prospective thing to add one to an Osprey mose, my thought was why not add them on sides, as in USCG HITRON, and for the whole antipiracy thing, as well as nose mounted, for universal flexibility, one could also include tail mounted as B-17s and B-29s had also, I think, for universal coverage, as well as top and bottom, mimicking WW2 bomber design, make the Gatlings robotic, and let them also then do close air support (CAS)as well, you know?
