A road trip in an electric vehicle doesn't have to be nerve-wracking anymore

Despite this article, I would not buy a total EV. I would consider a hybrid. The disaster in the Chicago area last winter told me they are not quite ready for Wisconsin winters

I'd love to have a ev work truck but I don't want to give up weight carrying for tools and materials in exchange for batteries, the only way I could see it happening is is to increase axles and suppression but would probably put it into a different weight class which is not good as anything over 3/4 ton is not allowed to be street parked here in Raleigh NC.

The article says it best with, "We spend way more time commuting than on long drives, and EVs handle daily driving with ease." But we love our freedom and driving ourselves is by far the best means of transportation in this country. Trains are non-existent for most of the country. Flying has turned from a reasonable mode of transportation to something akin to torture.

We are getting there, but we still have more shortfalls to overcome. Give it time. As more people make the switch, more focus will be put on EVs. Range will extend, time to charge will decrease, and cost will decrease.
