I don't know about that but I saw my supervisor throw a Cup of Hot Coffee into the air in
Alaska, heard it freeze, and saw it fall as Ice Crystals on the ground.

2 things come to mind. Water expands when it freezes and becomes less dense which is why ice floats in water. Hot water is also less dense than cold water and floats on cold eater. Since it is already less dense, that may be the avenue to freezing faster than cold water. Just a thought
